Why we're starting with a list, not a lease
The usual order for opening a racket club is: find a site, sign a lease, raise against it, build, then market. It's the order that feels decisive. It's also the order that puts the largest cheque before the only question that matters.
That question is whether enough people within a short drive actually want to play padel every week. Not whether they'd try it once. Whether it becomes part of their week.
So weRally is starting with the list. Every person who joins it tells us something specific — where they'd drive to, when they'd play, what they'd pay, whether they've ever held a racket. That's not a mailing list, it's the demand evidence that decides which site is worth signing and lets a lender underwrite it.
It also means we can be honest about what doesn't exist yet. There is no lease. There are no courts. There is no opening date. Anyone showing you a photograph of a padel club that hasn't been built is showing you someone else's club.
We'd rather have a smaller list of people who know exactly what they're joining.
