Padel is doubles, played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court. The walls stay in play. The serve is underhand. Most people are rallying inside their first game — which is why it spreads through a city by word of mouth rather than by advertising.

Straight answers
The questions everyone actually asks.
Do I need a partner to play?
No — that's the point of the club. Padel is doubles, so a game needs four people, and weRally is built around organised play that puts you into games without you having to assemble a group first.
I've never played a racket sport. Will I embarrass myself?
Less than you think. The court is enclosed, the racket is short and solid, the serve is underhand, and the ball is slower than a tennis ball. Most first-timers are rallying within their first game, and beginner sessions are level-banded so you're playing with people at your stage.
Is it just tennis with walls?
It shares scoring with tennis and almost nothing else. The court is enclosed and about a third the size, the walls are in play like squash, the serve is underhand, and it's doubles only. Touch and positioning matter more than power — which is why it rewards new players faster.
How fit do I need to be?
Less than for tennis or squash — the court is smaller and you're covering half of it. It's social exercise: you'll finish having moved a lot without it feeling like a workout you dreaded.
Where in the DC area will it be?
We're in the middle of the site process across the DC metro area and we'll announce the location the moment it's confirmed. The founding list hears first, before anyone else.
When do you open?
Construction timelines follow the site, so we'll give you a date when we can stand behind it rather than a date that slips. Founding members will know before it's public.
What will membership cost?
Pricing will be published in full before anyone is asked to commit to anything. Founding members lock their rate in advance of general pricing.
Do I need equipment?
No. Rackets and balls will be available at the club. Court shoes or clean trainers and whatever you'd wear to the gym is all you need to bring.
Indoor or outdoor?
Both are live options and the site decides it. Year-round play is part of the brief either way.
Will there be pickleball?
Possibly, alongside padel — it depends on the footprint. If you'd play it, say so on the founding form. That answer genuinely affects the decision.
